More details
Lavangadi Choorna is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for various conditions related to the respiratory and digestive systems. “Lavanga” refers to Clove, which is the main ingredient and gives the preparation its name. The benefits of Lavangadi Choorna, as per Ayurvedic principles, are largely attributed to its warming, pungent (Katu Rasa), and aromatic properties, which help pacify Kapha and Vata doshas.
- Cough (Kasa):Especially effective for productive coughs, wet coughs, or coughs with a lot of phlegm (Kapha). It helps in liquefying and expelling mucus.
- Cold & Congestion (Pratishyaya):Alleviates symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, nasal blockage, and chest congestion.
- Sore Throat & Hoarseness (Gala Roga&Swarabheda):Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties help soothe an irritated throat, reduce pain, and improve voice quality.
- Bronchitis & Asthma (Shwasa):Provides relief in conditions where there is excessive Kapha accumulation in the lungs, making breathing difficult. It helps clear the airways.
- Expels Phlegm (Kaphahara):It has an expectorant action, helping to clear accumulated phlegm from the respiratory passages.
- Indigestion (Ajirna):Its pungent and warm nature stimulates Agni (digestive fire), improving digestion and reducing feelings of heaviness after meals.
- Loss of Appetite (Agnimandya):Enhances appetite by igniting digestive power.
- Bloating & Flatulence (Adhmana):Helps in expelling gas and reducing abdominal distension due to its carminative properties.
